It’s Okay to Not Be Okay πŸ’›

β€” A Momz Corner reminder

Let’s say this out loud, together: it’s okay to not be okay.

Not β€œInstagram not okay.”

Not β€œI’ll laugh it off and keep going” not okay.

Real, messy, exhausted, overwhelmed, holding-it-together-with-dry-shampoo not okay.

Motherhood has a way of piling things on. You’re caring for kids, managing a home, showing up for work, relationships, school, emails, appointments, emotions that aren’t even yours β€” and somewhere in there, you’re supposed to take care of you too. That’s a lot. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or has help they’re not mentioning.

You’re not failing β€” you’re human

Bad days don’t mean you’re a bad mom.

Tears don’t mean you’re weak.

Feeling burned out doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful.

It means you’re carrying a full load without a pause button.

Some days you’ll feel patient and present. Other days you’ll feel touched-out, short-tempered, or completely numb. Both can exist. One does not cancel out the other.

You don’t need to earn rest

You don’t need to:

Finish the laundry first

Be productive to β€œdeserve” a break

Hit rock bottom before asking for help

Rest is not a reward. It’s a requirement.

And rest doesn’t always look like a spa day. Sometimes it looks like sitting in silence. Sometimes it’s going to bed early. Sometimes it’s crying in the car before walking into the house β€” and that’s okay too.

Talking about it matters

When moms pretend everything is fine, other moms think they’re the only ones struggling. They’re not.

If you can:

Say it out loud to someone you trust

Write it down

Whisper it to yourself

That honesty matters. It lightens the load, even just a little.

And if today feels heavier than most, please know this: you don’t have to carry it alone. Reaching out β€” to a friend, a professional, a support group β€” is strength, not weakness.

A gentle reminder from Momz Corner

You are doing more than you realize.

You are allowed to have hard days.

You are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to not be okay β€” and still be a good mom.

If today is one of those days, take a breath. Grab your coffee (or reheat it… again). You’re seen here. You’re safe here. And you’re not alone.
